The Trader’s Arms, where Lucia and Georgie spend the night on their visit to Tilling, is set at the Ypres Castle Inn.
The Ypres (pronounced locally as the “Wipers”) is a very popular pub in Rye known for it’s live music on Fridays and great food.
The original location of the Trader’s Arms from Benson’s books is the Hope Anchor Hotel on Watchbell Street. Channel 4, on the other hand, use The Mermaid Inn.
